Mandelhuset is a charming waterfront restaurant in Våge on Tysnes, an island just south of Bergen. Located on the old steamship quay, the restaurant occupies historic buildings that once served as a general store and meeting place for the local community.
The restaurant opened in 1995, while the main trading house dates back to 1923. Today, Mandelhuset is best known as a summer restaurant by the sea, serving seasonal dishes made with quality Norwegian ingredients.
During the summer season, guests can enjoy lunch or dinner with views across the harbour. Boats can also moor at the guest harbour directly outside the restaurant.

Outside the main summer season, Mandelhuset focuses on private events, weddings, meetings and other gatherings. The property also offers selected experiences such as wine tastings and a waterfront sauna.
Getting to Mandelhuset from Bergen
Drive around 35–40 minutes from Bergen to Halhjem, followed by a 35-minute ferry ride to Våge. Mandelhuset is located just a short walk from the ferry terminal.
