These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of AcrossNorway, including acrossnorway.com, its listings, travel information, hiking information, maps, downloadable GPX files, user accounts and listing submission services.

By using AcrossNorway, creating an account, submitting a listing, purchasing a listing, downloading a GPX file or otherwise using our services, you acknowledge these Terms. If you do not agree with them, you should not use the relevant service or content.
1. About AcrossNorway
AcrossNorway is an online travel directory and information service about destinations, accommodation, activities, dining, hiking and other travel-related services in Norway.
AcrossNorway and Kvikki Media AS are information publishers only unless explicitly stated otherwise.
We are not a tour operator, travel agency, mountain guide, rescue service, route authority, weather service, landowner, trail operator or provider of the accommodation, restaurants, activities or other third-party services listed on the website.
Businesses and other third-party providers appearing on AcrossNorway operate independently from Kvikki Media AS.
2. General information disclaimer
We aim to provide useful and accurate information, but information on AcrossNorway may contain errors, omissions or outdated information.
Opening hours, prices, availability, access, road conditions, parking information, routes, distances, travel times, difficulty ratings, elevation data, seasonal information and other details may change without notice.
You should verify important information with the relevant business, official authority, local tourism organisation, landowner, route operator or other authoritative source before relying on it.
Information on AcrossNorway is provided for general informational purposes and should not be regarded as a guarantee of current conditions.
3. Hiking and outdoor activities
Hiking and outdoor activities involve inherent risks.
These may include, among other things, falls, slippery or unstable terrain, cliffs, rockfall, rapidly changing weather, snow, ice, avalanches, flooding, strong winds, poor visibility, cold exposure, hypothermia, exhaustion, navigation errors, road traffic, water hazards and limited or unavailable mobile coverage.
Descriptions of hiking routes and outdoor activities on AcrossNorway are general guidance only.
AcrossNorway does not assess whether a particular hike or activity is suitable for your individual fitness, health, experience, skills or equipment.
You are solely responsible for deciding whether to undertake an activity and for assessing your own abilities and the abilities of anyone travelling with you.
Before starting a hike or outdoor activity, you should obtain current information concerning:
- weather conditions and forecasts;
- avalanche, flood, ice and other relevant warnings;
- trail and road closures;
- local restrictions and official advice;
- required equipment and clothing;
- available daylight;
- the difficulty and length of the route; and
- whether a qualified local guide should be used.
Conditions in Norway can change rapidly. Information that was correct when published may no longer reflect current conditions.
Always follow official signs, instructions from local authorities and emergency personnel, and current local safety information.
4. GPX files, maps and route data
GPX files, GPS tracks, maps, coordinates, elevation profiles and other route data made available through AcrossNorway are provided for general guidance only.
They are not a certified navigation service and are not a guarantee that a route is accurate, open, legal, marked, maintained or safe.
GPX and GPS data may contain errors caused by inaccurate recordings, GPS reception, data conversion, outdated route information, route changes, human error or technical problems.
A GPX track may differ from the safest or currently recommended route.
You must not rely solely on a GPX file, mobile phone, GPS device or electronic map when travelling in the mountains or other remote areas.
Users should carry appropriate navigation equipment, understand how to use it and check current maps, local signage and official route information.
Electronic devices can fail, batteries can become depleted and mobile coverage may be unavailable.
Downloading or using a GPX file does not mean that AcrossNorway or Kvikki Media AS has inspected or recently verified the route.
5. Your responsibility and assumption of outdoor risk
By choosing to undertake a hike or outdoor activity described on AcrossNorway, you acknowledge that outdoor activities may involve serious risks, including the risk of injury or death.
You are responsible for your own route choices, preparation, equipment, decisions and conduct.
You voluntarily assume the ordinary and inherent risks associated with the outdoor activity you choose to undertake.
If conditions, weather, your physical condition or other circumstances make a route unsafe, you should turn around, change your plans or cancel the activity.
If you are uncertain about the safety of a route, use a qualified local guide or obtain advice from an appropriate local authority or professional.
AcrossNorway must never be used as a substitute for emergency services or real-time safety information.
In an emergency in Norway, contact the appropriate emergency service.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AcrossNorway and Kvikki Media AS are not responsible for loss or damage resulting from:
- changes in weather, terrain, trails, roads or natural conditions;
- inaccurate or outdated third-party information;
- the acts or omissions of listed businesses or other third parties;
- a user's route choice, preparation, equipment or decisions;
- reliance on GPX files, GPS devices, maps or route descriptions;
- interruptions, technical errors or unavailable website services; or
- circumstances outside our reasonable control.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kvikki Media AS shall not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from use of the website.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict any liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted under applicable mandatory law.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights that a user has under mandatory applicable law.
7. Third-party businesses and services
AcrossNorway contains information about accommodation providers, restaurants, activity providers, attractions and other businesses.
A listing on AcrossNorway does not constitute a guarantee, certification or warranty regarding the quality, safety, legality, availability or suitability of that business or service.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Kvikki Media AS is not a party to any agreement entered into between a visitor and a listed business.
Any booking, purchase, activity or other transaction with a listed business is between you and that business and is subject to the business's own terms and policies.
You should perform your own assessment before purchasing or participating in any third-party service or activity.
8. External websites
AcrossNorway may contain links to third-party websites.
These websites are controlled by third parties. Kvikki Media AS is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices or services.
A link does not necessarily constitute an endorsement.
9. Business listings and submitted content
If you submit or manage a business listing, you confirm that:
- you are authorised to represent the business;
- the information you provide is accurate and not misleading;
- you have the necessary rights to text, photographs, logos, trademarks and other submitted material;
- the content does not infringe the rights of any third party; and
- the listing complies with applicable law.
You retain ownership of material that you own.
By submitting content, you grant Kvikki Media AS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, resize, display and promote that content as reasonably necessary to operate and market AcrossNorway and the relevant listing.
We may correct formatting, improve presentation or make reasonable editorial changes.
We may reject, suspend, modify or remove listings that are inaccurate, unlawful, misleading, inappropriate, infringe third-party rights or otherwise breach these Terms.
10. Paid business listings
Paid listings on AcrossNorway are intended for businesses and persons acting in a commercial or professional capacity.
Prices, billing periods and included features are displayed before purchase.
Unless otherwise stated, prices are exclusive of VAT and applicable VAT will be added where required.
Payment is processed by the payment provider presented during checkout. Kvikki Media AS does not require users to send payment-card details directly to us.
If a plan is identified at checkout as a recurring subscription, it renews for the billing interval stated at checkout until cancelled.
If a plan is not identified as recurring, it expires at the end of the purchased period unless renewed.
A subscription may be cancelled for future renewal using the available account or payment controls, or by contacting Kvikki Media AS.
Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or where another refund policy has expressly been stated at checkout.
A paid or premium listing does not guarantee any particular number of visitors, clicks, enquiries, customers, bookings, sales or search-engine rankings.
Failure to pay applicable renewal charges may result in a paid listing being downgraded, unpublished or removed.
11. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the design, text, photographs, graphics, databases, route descriptions and other original content on AcrossNorway are owned by or licensed to Kvikki Media AS.
Content may be used for normal personal use of the website.
You may not systematically copy, reproduce, republish, sell, scrape or create a competing database from AcrossNorway content without permission, except where such use is permitted by mandatory law.
Downloading a GPX file gives you a limited right to use that file for personal navigation and trip planning. It does not transfer ownership of intellectual-property rights.
12. Accounts and security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity carried out through your account.
Information provided when creating or using an account must be accurate.
We may suspend accounts where we reasonably suspect misuse, fraud, security risks or breaches of these Terms.
13. Privacy
Personal data is processed in accordance with the AcrossNorway Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to AcrossNorway
We may modify, update, suspend or remove website content, features, listings or services.
We may also update these Terms when necessary.
The date at the top of this page shows when the Terms were last updated.
Where appropriate, material changes affecting paid services will be communicated to affected customers.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and the operation of AcrossNorway are governed by Norwegian law.
To the extent permitted by mandatory applicable law, disputes concerning AcrossNorway or these Terms shall be subject to the courts of Norway, with Hordaland District Court as the agreed court of first instance.
Nothing in this section removes any mandatory rights or jurisdictional protections that cannot legally be waived.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
