Åkrasanden on Karmøy
Åkrasanden is a large, beautiful sandy beach on the western coast of Karmøy, about a 30-minute drive from Haugesund.
This is the largest sand dune area on the southwest coast outside Jæren and Lista. The beach is divided by small headlands and has a grassy, gently rolling hinterland that creates a scenic setting.
The area is well equipped with three large car parks, three modern toilet facilities, as well as tables and benches for picnics and relaxation. Even if you are not planning to swim or sunbathe, Åkrasanden is a perfect place for a walk. A pleasant road runs along the entire beach, turning into a trail in some places.
