From the Båtskaret car park, the hike begins on sherpa steps before continuing along a rocky trail. The route is easy to follow, as many people hike here. The trail is marked with red paint. It climbs steeply and has some exposed sections. Throughout the ascent, there are views across the northern part of Valdres.
At the summit, there are panoramic views of Jotunheimen. Unfortunately, I did not get to experience them as it was foggy that day.
This is the shortest route to Bitihorn. It is called Tyskerstigen because German mountain troops were sent here for special training during World War II.
I would not recommend this route to the summit if you are afraid of heights. In that case, it is better to hike from the other side, although that route is much longer.
Enjoy your hike!
