About Borestranden
Borestranden is a long sandy beach on the exposed Jæren coast. Low dunes, farmland and an open North Sea horizon create the broad landscape characteristic of Norwegian Scenic Route Jæren. Wind and waves make the beach popular for surfing and kite sports, while calmer periods attract walkers and swimmers.
The coast is protected for its dunes, birdlife and agricultural setting. Paths from designated parking reduce erosion and keep visitors away from fields and nesting habitat. Surf conditions can be powerful even when the beach appears gently sloping, and rip currents, cold water and wind chill require caution. The beach has no single staffed entrance, and local restrictions on dogs, fires, camping and vehicles may change with season and conservation needs.
Visiting Borestranden
Use designated beach parking and established dune crossings. Check tide, surf and wind before entering the water, keep dogs under current control rules and do not drive, camp or light fires on protected dunes.
