Borgafjellet (353 m a.s.l.) from Hjelle
Borgafjellet is a popular hiking destination frequently visited by people from Os.
Easily accessible and manageable for most people.
From here, follow the sign marked "Borgafjellet 1.1 km" and continue along the trail to the summit. It first crosses pastureland, so remember to close the gate. The trail then passes through woodland before climbing across rocky scree and levelling out along the final section. Good footwear is recommended due to the rocky terrain. It can also be slippery after rain.
At the summit, there is a large mast, a poorly constructed stone cairn, signs showing where you can continue, and a mailbox. There are also magnificent views across Os and south towards Sunnhordland. In the distance, you can see Tysnessåta, Hovlandsnuten, Englafjell and Ulvanosa.
