Farstadsanden Beach, Hustadvika
Farstadsanden is a sandy beach and protected coastal landscape in Hustadvika near the Atlantic Road, known for dunes, birdlife and a seaside trail.
Farstadsanden is a wide sandy beach in Hustadvika on Norway's northwest coast, close to the Norwegian Scenic Route Atlanterhavsvegen. Its sweeping bay, coastal dunes and open views make it a rewarding stop in good weather or on a blustery day.
Dunes and wildlife
The surrounding Farstadbukta bay is protected as a nature reserve because of its distinctive sand-dune landscape and rich bird and plant life. Enjoy the shoreline from designated access routes and take care not to disturb nesting birds or fragile vegetation.
Walk to Nordneset Lighthouse
A coastal path begins at the end of Farstadsanden and follows the coast towards Nordneset Lighthouse, approximately 2.5 km away in one direction. This is an optional walk rather than part of the basic beach visit.
Visitor facilities
Norwegian Scenic Routes identifies a rest area at Farstadsanden with toilet facilities, which it states are open year-round. Visit Northwest also reports an expanded parking area and new toilets completed in 2020. The beach is reached by turning off Road 663 at Farstad and following the signs.
