Finnbunuten (1,358 m) from Vikafjellet
From the car park, follow the road on the left for 100 metres. Cross the bridge and follow the trail up to the summer pasture farm at Finnbuene. From there, continue along the trail into the valley. Cross the river. If the water level is high, crossing farther upstream is recommended. Continue along the left side of the river into Finnbugjuvet.
From here, the trail becomes less distinct. Head up onto the ridge on your left. Walk southwards until you reach the ridge. You will see a small cairn marking a viewpoint. Once on the ridge, follow it southwest. The terrain is mostly flat, although there are a few dips. There is no marked trail here, so you will need to follow the terrain. Head west and climb onto the next plateau. It is steep here, but you will see a path/animal track to the right. Once at the top, you can see the Finnbunuten cairn in the distance.
The terrain now levels out. Head west and pass between two lakes. Continue straight ahead until you join the marked route to Finnbunuten. It is unclear where this marked trail starts, but it probably comes from the ski lift in Myrkdalen. Follow the red markers (stones and wooden stakes) to the summit. The cairn is visible from a considerable distance.
There are excellent views from the summit. Among other things, you can see Jostedalsbreen to the north. There is an impressive marble stone in the cairn. There is a mailbox with a summit register, but the book was filled up in 2020.
Return the same way.
