Hike to Kolbeinsvarden (231 m) on Askøy

From Bergheim, follow the trail signposted "Askøy på Langs". Continue into the forest and follow the beautiful wooden walkways. After a while, the trail crosses a marsh and descends to the right. Follow the trail down the steps. You will now join the main trail towards Kolbeinsvarden. From here, there is a steady climb. Walk up the steps past Kvilebuen. Simply follow the trail north.

When the terrain levels out, you will see Lake Langafjellstjørna on your right. Continue straight ahead along the trail and across the seemingly endless wooden walkways. On the final stretch, the trail turns left and climbs steadily towards the cairn.

At the top, there are magnificent views in every direction, as well as benches. If you continue north, you will find a lovely cabin where you can shelter from the rain.

Return the same way.
