Hike to Agdesteinfjellet (472 m) on Stord
The hike to Agdesteinfjellet (Agdesteinfjedlet) on Stord starts at the hikers' car park at Heio.
This large car park is the starting point for many hikes in the Stord mountains, including Kattnakken, Stovegolvet and Mehammarsåta.
At the end of the car park, there is a sign on the right marked "Steinen". Follow the road/trail on the left side of the marsh. The ground is boggy here, so keep to the right side of the road. Follow the road through gently undulating terrain until you reach a sign on the right marked "Agdesteinfjedlet". Follow this trail across marshes and rocky outcrops. The route is marked with red-painted posts. At the next sign marked "Agdesteinfjedlet", turn right. From here, it is about 100 metres to the viewpoint.
Enjoy panoramic views of Langenuen fjord. In the distance, you can see the towering Kvinnherad mountains and Folgefonna glacier. There is a small cairn and a trail register box at the summit.
On the way back, a detour to "Steinen" is recommended. It is signposted and visible from a distance. This enormous boulder stands on its own. There are benches here and lovely views of the fjord.
