Barden is a scenic ridge summit above Mefjordbotn, reached from the Mefjordeidet side. The route crosses open, sometimes wet ground and climbs to views of Segla, the fjords on both sides of Senja and the surrounding sharp peaks. The published route is 7.1 km return, with 562 m of ascent; allow 4 hr. It is graded demanding and the recommended season is june–september. A signed parking area lies near the tunnel at Mefjordeidet.
