Turn left up Skansemyrsveien, pass through the barrier by Skansemyren Sports Ground and follow the road towards Skomakerdiket. This is the famous route from the 2017 UCI Road World Championships, when thousands of Bergen residents lined the course and cheered on the cyclists. Turn right at the sign for Skomakerdiket. Skomakerdiket offers many summer activities, including canoe hire, barbecue facilities and swimming. Skomakerstuen sells hot and cold drinks and light snacks.

At the end of Skomakerdiket, follow the signs towards Granbakketårnet. After a 20-minute walk, you will reach Søre Midtfjell and Fjellhytten, with magnificent views across the Bergen valley. The cabin is staffed on Saturdays and Sundays. From here, you can continue into the city mountains and explore the extensive network of trails.
