Kvam offers one fascinating peak after another—and the highest is Fuglafjellet.
Fuglafjellet is a rugged mountain with few good trails to the summit. It is particularly appealing to those who enjoy hiking off the beaten track. A distinctive feature is the many sheer drops surrounding the mountain, which can be challenging when the fog rolls in. These cliffs also offer plenty of exciting routes up the mountain. This hike follows the route from Steinskvanndalen. You can also climb Fuglafjellet from Hamlagrø (via Vending) and from Øystese via Vossadalen/Fugladalen.
The views from the summit are extensive. You may also be lucky enough to spot the herd of reindeer sometimes seen on this mountain.
