Hike to Glittertind

Glittertinden is a major high-alpine summit reached from Glitterheim. The route climbs steadily into a landscape of stone, snowfields and wide views across Jotunheimen; the approach to the cabin from Veodalen adds distance if it is not completed the previous day. The published route is 12.2 km return, with 1,075 m of ascent; allow 7 hr. It is graded demanding and the recommended season is june–september. Park in Veodalen; Glitterheim is reached by a further 7 km walk or cycle.
