Haldde is the historic mountain above Kåfjord where an early northern-lights observatory once operated. The route follows the old construction road to the summit buildings, gaining nearly 1,000 metres and opening wide views over Altafjord and the surrounding plateau. The published route is 18 km return, with 947 m of ascent; allow 6 hr. It is graded demanding and the recommended season is june–september. Use the mapped parking/start in Kåfjord and follow current local signs.
