Hatten rises above Hattfjelldal and is the municipality's signature mountain. The marked route climbs through forest and onto bare rock, with a few steep or scrambling sections, to views over Røssvatnet, Okstindan and the surrounding border mountains. The published route is 10 km return, with 620 m of ascent; allow about 5–6 hr. It is graded moderate and the recommended season is june–october. Park at the start of the tractor road in Hattli, beside the mapped trailhead.
