Hellandsnuten rises steeply above Sand and gives a commanding view over Sandsfjorden and the Ryfylke landscape. The route gains height quickly through forest and rougher mountain terrain, making this a strenuous outing despite its moderate distance. The published route is 7.4 km return, with 677 m of ascent; allow 4 hr. It is graded very demanding and the recommended season is march–october. Park by Joagarden kindergarten at Eide in Sand.
