Hermannsdalstinden is the highest summit on Moskenesøya and one of Lofoten's hardest day hikes. The long route from Sørvågen passes Munkebu and crosses steep, exposed mountain terrain before the final summit ridge; many hikers divide the journey over two days. The published route is 22–24 km return, with about 1,250 m of ascent; allow about 12–14 hr. It is graded very demanding and the recommended season is mid-july–early september. Use paid parking in Sørvågen and start early; do not rely on an overnight cabin without checking its status.
