Hike to Hesten

Hesten is the classic viewpoint toward Segla's sheer western face. The trail climbs from Fjordgård over open slopes to a broad ridge, then continues more steeply toward the summit; several lower viewpoints provide the famous view without requiring the final ascent. The published route is 4.5 km circuit, with 489 m of ascent; allow 3 hr. It is graded demanding and the recommended season is april–december. Use the designated visitor parking in Fjordgård; follow local signs to the Hesten trail.
