Komsatoppen is a short, accessible hill walk above Alta. Several trails cross the protected cultural landscape, which contains traces of very early settlement, and the summit gives views over the city, Altafjord and the lower Alta valley. The published route is 2.9 km return, with about 180 m of ascent; allow about 1 hr 20 min. It is graded easy–moderate and the recommended season is all year. Use the parking area west of Komsa school/Tilfluktsveien.
