Hike to Lårdalstigen

Lårdalstigen is a dramatic traverse high above Lake Bandak, with repeated viewpoints over the Telemark Canal landscape. The path crosses steep, rugged slopes between Eidsborg and Lårdal and includes exposed sections; plan transport because the classic route is point to point. The published route is 13.3 km one way, with 658 m of ascent; allow 7 hr. It is graded very demanding and the recommended season is may–october. The former end-of-road parking may be closed. Use long-term parking at Dalen quay and arrange onward transport.
