Hike to Lyderhorn (396 m) - one of Bergen's seven mountains
Hike from Falck Nutec in Gravdal to Lyderhorn (396 m above sea level)
Lyderhorn is one of Bergen's seven city mountains, and perhaps one of its most visited peaks. The mountain is easy to climb, and the most popular route starts in Gravdal.
Several trails run through the forest, but the easiest option is to follow Kvarvenbakken (a paved road) until you reach a junction. Continue straight ahead onto the trail. Follow it to the steps leading down to Skåleviksvatnet. Continue along the west side of the lake. The trail climbs steadily before becoming steep near the end. It is easy to follow, and the summit is visible from a long way off.
The summit offers excellent views of Bergen West, Askøy, Sotra and Øygarden.
