Lyshornet is perhaps the most visited peak in all of Bjørnafjorden, and the most popular route starts at Lysekloster. From the ruins, follow the trail for about 100 metres until you reach a gravel road. Turn left, walk about 100 metres, then turn right onto another gravel road. Follow this road onwards.
When the uphill section begins, you can either take the trail through the spruce forest or continue along the winding gravel road. Partway up the hillside, leave the gravel road and follow the trail through the spruce forest for the final section. The trail is clearly marked and crosses plenty of scree. The final section to the summit is steep and partly follows steps.
At the summit, you will find a postbox with a hiking log and fantastic views of nearby peaks and south towards Bjørnafjorden.
