Hike to Mehammarsåto (749 m) on Stord

When you reach the trail junction on the plateau, continue straight ahead (not right towards Kattnakken). Follow the trail farther into the Stord mountains via Martetjøna. The trail curves southwest before turning right and continuing north towards Mehammersåto. The terrain here is flat, making it possible to maintain a brisk pace. Follow the trail along the left side of Stemmetjørna lake. The route is marked all the way and is easy to follow.

The summit of Mehammerståo lies some distance farther on, and you will have to cross a few "false summits". The cairn on Stord's highest mountain is not particularly impressive, but you will be rewarded with fantastic 360-degree views across Sunnhordland.
