Hike to Rabothytta

Rabothytta stands dramatically beside Okstindbreen, reached from Leirbotnet by a steady climb over open, rocky terrain. The cabin's geometric architecture and the close view of the glacier make this a distinctive destination, but snow and rapid weather changes are common. The published route is 10.2 km return, with 554 m of ascent; allow about 3–4 hr. It is graded moderate and the recommended season is july, october. Use the parking area at Leirbotnet at the end of the access road.
