Snota is one of Trollheimen's most distinctive summits. The long route from Gråsjøen crosses varied mountain terrain and a steep upper section, with possible snowfields, before reaching a panoramic top overlooking lakes, valleys and the central Trollheimen range. The published route is 21.6 km return, with 1,307 m of ascent; allow 9 hr. It is graded very demanding and the recommended season is july–september. Use the parking area at the end of the road beyond Gråhaugen by Gråsjøen.
