Hike to Solhellanuten (907 m) in Kvamskogen

The hike starts on a gravel road leading up to the cabins at Byrkjesete, before a clearly marked trail continues towards the summit. There are some steep sections near the end. Approx. 9 km round trip, 4 hours and 536 m of ascent. At the summit, you can enjoy magnificent views of Hardanger, Folgefonna and the mountains of Kvamskogen.

Return the same way, or continue over the summit and descend on the far side to Sunnvoredalsvatnet. From there, follow the trail south along the river before it turns west towards Storebotnen and continues down to Byrkjesete.

Parking

Parking at Tokagjel: Parking costs NOK 100 on the south side of the road. It is unclear whether there is a fee on the opposite side of the road (at the starting point of the hike).
