Hike to Synesvarden & Steinkjerringa

This circuit crosses the protected coastal heathland of Jæren and links two local landmarks: the summit of Synesvarden and the stone sculpture Steinkjerringa, also known as Mor Norge. Expect open, wind-exposed terrain, low vegetation and expansive views toward the North Sea. The published route is 8.8 km circuit, with 194 m of ascent; allow 2 hr 30 min. It is graded easy and the recommended season is all year. Several signed starts are possible; the mapped route uses the trailhead shown in directions.
