Kossdalssvingene on Osterøy
We started the hike at Hosanger Montessoriskule, but you can just as easily start down by the cemetery.
Kossdalen is a narrow valley surrounded by steep mountainsides, with the beautiful Lake Kossdalsvatnet nestled within it. A pleasant gravel road runs through the valley and leads to Kossdalssvingene.
Kossdalssvingene, which takes you up to Svenheim, is an impressive feat of engineering. The road is 360 metres long and 2.5 metres wide, with retaining walls up to 6 metres high.
The road winds uphill through 17 sharp hairpin bends and has a gradient of 27%.
Return via the same route.
