It is considered the second most visited summit in the area, after Melderskin. As it is significantly lower than Melderskin, the hiking season for Malmangernuten is also considerably longer, since the snow usually melts earlier. The hike can start in Rosendal town centre, and the trail is well marked and signposted all the way to the summit. The terrain is good, but the ascent is steep.
