Melshovden (183 m ASL) in Austfjorden
This is a short hike suitable year-round. Park in the large parking bay beside the road.
Then cross the road to where the trail begins – there is a sign marked "Melshovden". Follow the trail through gently undulating woodland. After a while, the landscape opens up, and the trail continues across solid rock, climbing steadily to the cairn.
At the top, you can enjoy views across Austfjorden, with Mongstad in the distance. Looking south, you can see Stallbotnen on the left and Hindenesfjorden on the right.
Return the same way.
