From the car park, follow the gravel road into the valley. Just after the second bridge, there is a sign marked "Breidablik". The route now continues along a trail as the ascent begins. Follow the clearly visible trail through the forest. It winds steeply up Håsetedalen until you pass the tree line. After passing the tree line, you will reach the Håsete mountain farm, where the trail forks. Turn left here. The route now continues through open mountain terrain, with another steep ascent before it levels out.
You can now see Mount Skrott on your right, and you will reach another trail junction. Continue straight ahead via Vindskjersleitet. Simply follow the T-marked trail straight ahead, keeping to the left of the lakes, until you reach the cabin.
For an alternative route, you can hike up Mount Skrott, cross the mountain ridge and descend to the cabin.
