Nigardsbreen in Jostedalen
From the car park, it is approximately a 3 km walk to the glacier. The trail is well maintained, with bridges and steps.
The first part follows Nigardsbrevatnet, with its distinctive blue colour. The trail then continues up through the vegetation-free valley, across smooth rock and mountain terrain. These rocks can be slippery, so walk carefully. Small cairns mark the route. Cross the large bridge, followed by the small bridge. Here, you will notice that the temperature becomes much colder. Then follow the markers for the final stretch to the glacier. Remember to stay behind the barriers.
