The hike starts at the visitor parking area (Pottefot) on the right-hand side of the main road, just after the bus turnaround and before you reach the village centre. Follow Undredalsvegen downhill towards the centre. At the main junction, turn left towards the church. Continue along the paved road past the church and through several farmyards, heading north. The road runs along the hillside above the fjord.

When you reach the end of the road, you will see a sign. Go through the gate and continue along the trail beside the fjord. From here, simply follow the trail all the way to Stokko.

The trail follows the fjord for about 2 kilometres. First, you pass old hayfields before the trail climbs steeply across smooth rock and through an area of fallen rocks. You then enter another open cultural landscape. Railings have been installed in some places, but watch your footing carefully, as the terrain drops steeply towards the fjord at several points.

This is an exciting trail through beautiful scenery, with panoramic views of the Aurlandsfjord and surrounding mountains. The trail ends when you reach Stokko. Here, you will find a small building with an outdoor toilet and a logbook where you can sign your name. There is also a cabin at the end of the trail, but it is privately owned.

High on the mountainside, on the same side as the trail, you can see the Stigen mountain farm. You will need a boat to get there.

Return the same way.
