Veten (285 m) in Sund
The summit is located at Steinsland, at the southern tip of Sotra. Beautiful views, highly recommended!
From the car park, walk up towards the school/swimming pool. Here you will see hiking signs. Continue straight towards the large guitar and follow the path to the right, which winds up behind the guitar. The trail crosses classic Sotra terrain with rocky outcrops and sparse vegetation. After a while, you will reach another sign marked "Veten 1.5". Continue along the trail. There are some steep sections. It can also be slippery, so bring ice cleats if there has been frost.
Walk up the long rocky slope to another sign. Here you can take a detour to Storevarden. To reach Veten, continue straight ahead. Cross the marsh and climb the final rise. Here, part of an aircraft engine has been embedded in the rock. Continue another 150 metres towards the mast.
At the summit, there is a cairn, viewing scope and guest book. Enjoy the 360-degree views!
